Meet Ralph & Carol Bass
Carol Bass trained as a medical transcriptionist in the mid ’70’s. For several years she worked in the medical community. In 1980 she, and her husband, Ralph, decided to start their own medical transcription business. It was the first of three they would own. They started in 1980 with Dictaphone transcribers, IBM Selectric typewriters, carbon paper, white out, and boxes of tapes.
Their first service served local hospitals. Their second expanded to include local clinics and physician offices.
When the moment came to start Digital Transcription Inc. in 1995, it was time to go high tech. In the place of the former equipment, a digital dictation system was installed, wide band internet service was obtained, and state of the art computers were utilized. As a result, they now have typists from around the world and clients across the U.S.
